THE HONEST COMPARISON

A website builder, or a developer?

The honest answer first: if you enjoy building your own site and have the evenings for it, a builder like Wix or Squarespace is a fair choice. If you don't, my model costs €199 up front and €20 a month — a monthly fee, like a builder, but none of your time is in it, and someone is accountable for the result.

What a builder really costs

The subscription is the visible part. The invisible part is your time: learning the editor, making design decisions you have no reference for, and doing it again every time something changes. A builder site is never finished — you are its unpaid webmaster.

What a developer gives that a builder can't

Someone to write to. When the opening hours change, you send one message instead of opening an editor. When something breaks, it is my problem, not yours.

The site is built with the same tools large modern products are built with — TypeScript, React and Next.js — not blocks in a closed editor. If you ever take it in-house, any developer will recognise it.

Where the €199 model sits

Builders sell software; agencies sell a team. This is a third thing: one developer, a finished site in 7 days, and the risk removed — you see the finished site on a test domain before you pay anything.

QUESTIONS

Builder questions.

Can I move my site from Wix or another builder to you?

Yes. Fill in the brief and mark that you have a site that needs replacing. I pull the content that still works and rebuild the rest — you see the result before paying.

Will a builder site rank in Google?

It can — ranking depends more on content and structure than on the tool. The difference is who does that work. With a builder it is you; here, page titles, descriptions, structure and analytics are part of the build.

Isn't a builder cheaper overall?

A builder charges a subscription for as long as the site exists, plus your own time. My model is €199 once and €20 a month with the first month free — and the monthly fee includes a person making your changes, not just software hosting them.

What if I already started in a builder and got stuck?

Send the brief and link what you have. I will build the finished version, and you compare it with what you made before deciding to pay.
